Worship in the Last Days

The Tabernacle of David is the name given to a tent that King David set up on Mt Zion to house the Ark of the Covenant. It became the center of a new order of joyful worship, which stood in sharp contrast to the worship at the Tabernacle of Moses. Instead of sacrifices of animals people brought sacrifices of praise, joy and thanksgiving. (Psalm 95:2; Psalm 100:4 and Psalm 141:2). The Tabernacle of David is a type of the Church. Jesus fulfilled the sacrificial system of the Old Testament by His death on the Cross. He became the sin of the world and was the sacrificial Lamb on the cross for all people. The Sacrifices of the Church and the New Covenant Priesthood are the sacrifices of praise, joy and thanksgiving. (Hebrew 13:15 and 1 Peter 2:9).

The Ark of the Covenant was originally housed in the Tabernacle of David. At one stage it was captured by the Philistines after the Israelites lost in battle against the Philistines. Then it was house at Kirjat Jearim for years and then three months at Obed-Edom and then was moved to Mt. Zion and become known as the Tabernacle of David. It stood in David's Tabernacle for 40 years until it was moved again into the Temple, which was dedicated by King Solomon, David's son. For 40 years it remained the center of worship in Jerusalem. Worship was established around the clock. The Ark of the Covenant always stood in a tent until it got a resting place in a house, the Temple.

When the Ark of the Covenant came to Mt. Zion worship was restored to Israel and its people. This establishment of the Tabernacle of David is described in 2 Samuel 6 and in 1 Chronicles 13-16. From these chapters we see that King David prepared a place for the Ark (1 Chronicles 15:1), the Levites sanctified themselves for their ministry (1 Chronicles 15:14) which was to carry the Ark and to minister to the Lord (1 Chronicles 15:2). Israel joined in this precession (1 Chronicles 15:3) which was marked with and by joyful instrumental music and singing (1 Chronicles 15:16-21) and dancing (2 Samuel 6:14 and 1 Chronicles 15:29). It was a joyful occasion and a celebration all the way because the Lord is going to be in their midst again and His presence will be in Jerusalem. When it was finally put inside the pitched tent, the celebration started. We saw examples in the Psalms of worship that is an act of the whole person. Not the intellect but the whole person. Worship in the spirit. The worship here at David's Tabernacle included singing, instrumental music, standing, kneeling, bowing, raising the hands, clapping and dancing. This worship fulfills the command of Jesus to "love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind and all your strength" (Mark 12:30) The majority of the Psalms were originally sung as prophetic songs in David's Tabernacle. Many Psalms account in detail the expressions of worship offered by the Israelites before the Ark of the Covenant. They also describe the full range of human emotions revealed in the presence of God from despair to joy.

More and more Christians are gathering for the express purpose of ministering to the Lord. Many of them start to realize the importance of worship and got inside revelation of David's Tabernacle, which needs to be restored again in the last days. Jesus is continuing building His Church, by gathering people out of every nation to worship and serve Him. Jesus continues to build His Kingdom and many of us know that we live in the last days. The prophet Amos prophesized that the Tabernacle of David will be restored in the LAST DAYS. The restoration of the Tabernacle of David has received renewed emphasis in the last years. Though out history many have embraced the principles of the Tabernacle of David to advance the Kingdom of God. However, only in the last few years much more emphasis is on the restoration of the Tabernacle of David especially in true worship. God has always had people who ministered as prophets, kings and priests.

The prophet Amos spoke of the Church and said " In that day will I raise up the Tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; And I will raise up his ruins, and I will built it as in the days of old." (Amos 9:11). James and Peter said that this prophecy was interpreted by the leaders of the first century Church as being fulfilled in their day. (Acts 15:13-18). James quoted the words of Amos to show that the salvation of the gentiles is a fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecy and that they are living during the time of restoration of the Tabernacle of David. The Apostles knew that the church, was the restored Tabernacle of David, the place where Christ is worshipped, speaks prophetically and exercises His authority. The result of the church flowing into this worship, prophecy and authority was a great harvest of souls to advance the Kingdom of God.

If The Tabernacle of David find it's fulfillment in the Church, then the worship of David's Tabernacle is a model for the Church's worship. If this was the case, why do we not operate again in the worship that was established at the Tabernacle of David? At the Tabernacle of David, unity was one of the principles. There is no unity amongst Christians now and many do not operate in true worship. Many people complain if the worship or service is to long. They worshipped around the clock for 24 hrs at the Tabernacle of David. For this reasons the Tabernacle of David needs to be restored again and I feel that we are in the last days for the prophecy of Amos to come to fulfillment "again". True worship will be established. We will no longer dwell in His presence but we will dwell in His Glory. People will know what to do. People will do creative worship and while people are worshipping people will get delivered, saved, healed, etc. People will experience His presence and His Glory and will not want to part with it.

Isaiah 61:3
To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified."

John 4:23-24
: 23 A time will come, however, indeed it is already here, when the true (genuine) worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth (reality); for the Father is seeking just such people as these as His worshipers.
: 24 God is a Spirit (a spiritual Being) and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth (reality).
