God Speaks to us through dreams and visions in Symbols. Why does He do that and do not show us directly what He wants us to know? The answer is in the Word of God.
Proverbs 25:2 - It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter.
God can give us dreams and visions to bring healing to our souls and He opens up to us what the wounds are which offences caused. As we are most of the times not in peace with those around us, we have to realize that there must be a reason for it. The answer is in the fact that our souls are wounded and needs healing and peace will follows.
Dreams and Visions can bring the things of the invisible realm of heaven to us on earth. God has a dream language with which He speaks to us.
The condition of our souls is connected to our entire way of living. Our peace, health, finances, power over the demonic and physical body, are all influence by the condition of our soul.
We are a three part being. Spirit, Soul and Body. Our soul is our mind, our intellect and emotions.
Our spirit man is perfect from our rebirth, but not our soul. "No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man". (1 Corinthians 10:13) Temptations, offences and all kind of sins are common to mankind and it cause wounds in the soul. We must be renewed and healed in our soul. Paul said in Romans 7:20 " Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me" Paul said that even if we do not want to sin, we do and this is the result of the condition of our soul.
When our soul is healed it will be so must easier to walk in holiness before the Lord. We can not do that by ourselves, we need the Holy Spirit to help us and we need our souls to be healed to make it easier. It is the wounds in our soul which cause the strive amongst us. Wounds in the soul cause bitterness and when we speak to one another with hard, hurtful words, it comes from the wounded soul.
Wounds could have come way back in our past, long before we even met people with whom we are in strive now. So when somebody says something now it can trigger the wounds which came many years ago. These wounds come from sin. Someone sinned against us or we sin against someone else or we sin against ourselves.
Jesus also spoke in parables and where we can see clearly that we can sin against ourselves is in Mark 9:47. Jesus said "if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out" The word "eye" in the Greek "ophthalmos" ὀφθαλμός means "the eyes of the mind, the faculty of knowing" In other words part of the soul. The problem is not with your eye with we which see things and then we sin, but the problem is our mind. The wounds in our mind, our soul cause us to sin even more. And this is what Jesus said, deal with the wounds in our soul, "pluck" it out, not our eye itself.
In the book of Job we see what had happened to him and he said "I am weary of my life and loathe it! I will give free expression to my complaint; I will speak in the bitterness of my soul" Job 10:1. We see clearly here that Job had soul wounds because of everything which had happen to him. And he spoke bitterness and sinned even more by his words because he spoke out of the wounds in his soul.
Because the wounds are created by sin, it gives the enemy the right to torment us. In Psalms 143:3 it says "For the enemy has pursued and persecuted my soul, he has crushed my life down to the ground; he has made me to dwell in dark places as those who have been long dead" The enemy had no right to torment Jesus because there were no wounds in His soul, but we give the right to him to torment us via the wounds in our soul.
In John 14:30 Jesus said "for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me". Jesus had no sins and He had no soul wounds and therefore the enemy "had nothing" in Jesus to torment Him. In Mark 5:6 the man with an unclean spirit cried out "What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God that You do not torment me". The spirit in the man was tormenting the man and he knew he could not torment Jesus and he also knew Jesus had the power to torment him and therefore he cried out. In the Amplified Bible it says "what is there in common between us?" In other words the spirit said that there was nothing in common between him and Jesus. Jesus had no sin and He had no wounds in His soul and because there was nothing in common with the spirit and Jesus, the spirit had no right to torment Jesus. On the other hand, when we had non confessed sins in our lives and wounds in our soul, we have something in common with the enemy and it gives him the right to torment us.
The account of the man in Mark 5 goes on to say that the man "continually lived among the tombs". Tombs in Greek "mnemeion" μνημειον mean "any visible object for preserving or recalling the memory of any person or thing, a memorial, monument, specifically, a sepulchral monument". That is what a soul wound is, a monument of the sins done. In living with these soul wounds mean we live amongst the tombs. It is a monument in the soul of past hurts which keep on reminding us of the sins done and keep on causing us to be affected by the wounds. What happened to us as a child can effect our emotions and keep affecting us as there is a monument in our soul of that event which caused our emotions to go out of balance. So with all these wounds in our souls we live amongst the tombs and it give the enemy the right to afflict us.
Jesus said "Come out of the man, unclean spirit". With authority and power Jesus commanded the spirit and the spirit obeyed Him. The reason that we pray for healing, commanding the enemy to leaf and nothing is happening, is because we have something in common with the enemy, the evil, unclean spirit tormenting us with pain and sickness. We have to repent and apply the Blood of Jesus on our sins in order to be washed of our sins and then apply the power of the Holy Spirit on our soul wounds in order to be healed. Then and only then we will be free and will not have anything in common with the enemy and then and only then we can rebuke him and we will be free without torment.
